I'm not sure how many people at Limerock actually time their cars, but as some of you may know we do as often as we can. Not just our car, but the competition as well.
I'd just like to bring it to everyone's attention that the Sportsman class has been dropping their times year after year.
-When we purchased our car from Alex Mosher, his fast time with a 125 2-stroke was an 11:76.
-Our first year with the 250 4-stroke, we achieved an 11:75, as well as other lap times in the 11:70s, and a few in the 11:60s.
-The next year (last year) we achieved a fast time of ~11:38, with many times in the 11:4's and 11:5's on other nights.
-This past week, history was made: The 22 of Nathan Blum achieved a 10:97, which is unbelievably fast.
However, it is NOT just the 250 4-strokes that have been getting faster. Several times we have clocked 2-strokes (specifically the 88 of Josh Ames) with times in the 11:7s, 11:6s, and even the 11:5s.
This past night, with such a tacky track, the whole field was running exceptionally well, with 2-stroke times in the 11:4s.
It's awesome that we can continue to push the limits of what these engines, both 2-stroke and 4-stroke, can do.
